OpenOffice: Free Open Office Suite

OpenOfficeOpenOffice is a full-featured office suite by Apache.  It is made up of five main applications:

  1. Writer to create and edit word processing files
  2. Calc to create and edit spreadsheets and charts
  3. Impress to create, open and edit PowerPoint presentation slides
  4. Base to create, maintain and update databases, and
  5. Draw to create and edit diagrams.

While not as mainstream as Microsoft Office, it makes for a robust free alternative for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
